Me On Monday

It was a picture framing, pottering, rugby cheering, match marathon of a weekend. A "Beck" recording, hot dog chomping, sock knitting, lying in the sun with the papers weekend. Or, at least it felt that way - finally - by Sunday teatime. Saturday had been busier:

A go queue for a flu jab day, combined with a monster shopping trip. Of course! The shopping trip! That was the main event.

The much talked about, heavily planned for, formal shoe shopping event. It's only three weeks to go! This year's "Formal" as we know it, "Prom" to many of you, has been moved forward from February to October: a cunning plan by those in charge to keep minds on school work after Christmas. There was outrage first; but the lure of the early sparkle soon won them round. So now she has the dress, the partner and - at last - the shoes and the bag. She says he seems  up to speed on the whole corsage thing: nearly there, then.

I was taking a couple of quick pictures when I noticed the label: "Untold". Now there's a red rag to a scrapbooker. Of course there'll be a story. After I've got my head round it all. It's only a couple of weeks, after all, since I was making a page about basic black brogues and the start of her final school year.

From a layout here

So that leaves Me on Monday, looking a little crafty - and not in a scrapbooking way - I think you'll agree. It's because of my plan for the week: decluttering. Need I say more?

So  last week Deb, Helena, Eileen, Mary-Lou, Maggie, Ruth, Fiona, Michelle, Karen, Sheena, LouiseJulia, Liz and Louise H all gave us a wave, wished us the best of our Monday. Hope it's a good one for you this week too! And if you'd like a wave, you are very welcome to join us. Leave me a comment and I'll be round shortly!

I like your look, crafty or not! I also have decluttering in mind, Marie Kondo style. First up? The Brainy One's office, which will ba a challenge as he is an A* hoarder!
Ooh, the Formal ... I'm sure TNSSO will look gorgeous and that her date will be aware how lucky he is!

If I know anything about life it's that you can't go wrong with silver shoes. And also ...that it's an ever changing drift between comfy, sensible shoes ... and a bit of sparkle. I think she's got the balance just right.

And yours is the second de-cluttering post I've read today. New seasons seem to kick-start those kinds of activities don't they?

You can't go wrong with a bit of sparkle. I thought February was early for the Formal, our Prom is always in June. I can understand the logic behind bringing it forward though. I hope T(NS)SO has a wonderful time.

PS I'm not going to mention the rugby!

Yes I do love those shoes. I agree with Fiona it does seem very early for the formal. I hope she has a great time. Enjoy the de cluttering too!

I signed up for an online wardrobe de clutter and it really worked. Lots went to charity bags, some went straight in the bin and now I think I need to go shopping to fill in the gaps!
Lovely silver accessories, she must be getting very excited !

Good luck with the decluttering. I hope we get to see photos of the full outfit!

Oh what fun that they moved up the formal - looks to be a very glittery affair. And I'm tackling a big decluttering project as well, but I was either brave enough or dumb enough to give you a peek behind my door.

A girl's just gotta love sparkle. Beautiful photos as always, and can I become an honorary Irish person (I'm sure a great great grandmother was born there) due to various rugby outcomes? I am waving back today but my post didn't publish on schedule so it is a little late but there now.
PS Hope TNSSO has the most wonderful of formals/proms and good luck with the declutter - slash that stash.

Very elegant shimmery shoes and bag - though my eye was caught by that font! How I'd love to design one like that ... Hoping the NSSO really enjoys such a special occasion. Will there be a stretch limo involved? Cheering you on, on the decluttering front. I'm tackling paper this month. Mounds of the stuff. I'm thinking of scanning the lot and storing it all in the Cloud :).

Oh the 50 shades of grey on your photo collage today - the grey/silver shoes (delightful); greys in sock stripes (toasty); greys in your book cover, well you get my drift ... decluttering is a stressful untaking, I wish you the calmness of heart as you get started. I can't wait to see the matching page about the silver shoes to the black brogues

The shoes look fab - you can never have too much sparkle and glitter on a pair of shoes. Sounds like you have had a packed weekend as usual. Wishing you lots of luck with your decluttering, I will get back to mine after the next fundraiser - I only got half way through the room of doom LOL!!

Have a great week x

So much gorgeous sparkle from that shopping trip!!

Good luck with the decluttering. I've just embarked on a hug re-arranging of rooms here at home that will take the next couple of months. Decluttering, sorting, organizing, rearranging along the way! :)

I am sure you are both enjoying the prep for the formal very much :-) Best wishes for a beautiful and memorable evening. I am transported back to that exciting night with only a chord of Crocodile Rock lol.
Good luck decluttering, love it, have been doing it for about a year now. Once we were done after the first month we just have a day a month where it now takes us half an hour :)

Gorgeous shoes; spotted them right away---before I read a bit of the post! Love the socks, too. Good luck with the decluttering. About two weeks ago, I finished my section of the basement (no hope of crossing over to Tracy's side), and now have to motivate myself to start in on the attic.

Love the expression on your face - decluttering is in the mix here too and like Ruth I'm trying the Marie Kondo method (sort of). NIce socks!

A lovely sounding weekend. It sounds like "prom" is done the proper way in your neck of the woods with corsages and dates. Hope you've had a good week and here's to another weekend already!

A lovely weekend and glittery photos. Good luck with the de-cluttering. I have just ordered a book to help me, as I need some pointers and pokes to keep going here!
